We all love to read Psalms 91, it starts with a compelling statement. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Highest” (Psalms 91:1).
Well, can God truly protect everyone, or is it those who regularly live a life joined to God who lives in peace? Dwelling in a secret place with God means we faithfully seek His love. After all, we love to spend time with the ones we love.
A “secret” place can be at times difficult to locate. It is a place hidden from the influence of most people. The secret place is so private that it takes a lot of effort, energy, and sacrifice for a person to attain it.
Where is this secret place? It is the place only you and God are privately allowed to meet. Where only you and God unite alone, no distractions, where no one else is permitted. It isn’t a place for those who don’t recognize the importance of being with Him.
The secret place is just that, a secret that you and God hold, where His presence becomes noticeable, as you open up the secret areas of your heart. Many times we find ourselves revealing the secrets of our hearts to others, instead of God. If we would relish the time and find a secret place regularly with God, we would faithfully open up to Him rather than others.
The proof that one regularly enters a secret place with God is expressed by Christ himself. "When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." (Matthew 6:6).
Regularly entering the secret place with God, will publicly display your rewards from God our Father.
